That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ahmad Daniel.
Well Svenson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Daniel tries for a takedown but Souza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Daniel closes the distance and clinches up with Rodriguez, looking for a takedown. Daniel pushes Rodriguez against the cage but Rodriguez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rodriguez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Daniel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Daniel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Daniel finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Rodriguez's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Daniel falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jackson Rodriguez!
A very excited looking Jackson Rodriguez rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
