With the fighters clinched against the cage, Scaletta creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Scaletta unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Sammartino! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Scaletta is unloading with more strikes now! Sammartino drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Vito Scaletta decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

Sammartino misses with a low kick.
Sammartino throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bud's waist but Bud gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sammartino off to one side.
Sammartino has a takedown stuffed.
Sammartino looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bud is fending him off so far but Sammartino persists. Nope, Bud circles away and we're back to standing.
Kona Bud has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Sammartino.
Bud throws a head kick that half lands.
Bud lands with a slapping head kick. #CUT#
It looks like Ronnie Sammartino has been cut.
Bud scores with a leg kick.
Sammartino walks forward, straight into a front kick from Bud.
Bud turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bud thumps Sammartino with a low kick.
Bud fakes the leg kick and cracks Sammartino in the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sammartino throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bud lands a brutal head kick. Sammartino looks out on his feet and Bud throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Hughes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hughes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sammartino on the ground.
Sammartino taking punishment in the form of punches.
Sammartino takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Hughes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hughes looks up at the clock and then as Sammartino takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hughes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hughes lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sammartino down.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hughes is working Sammartino over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hughes working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sammartino's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hughes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sammartino swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sammartino controls Hughes momentarily but Hughes frees himself.

Hughes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sammartino has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hughes has managed to get both his arms back between Sammartino's legs - danger averted.
Sammartino has momentary wrist control but Hughes slips an elbow through the middle.
Hughes arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Sammartino's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
