Aims slaps away a takedown attempt from Brezlav, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Aims scores with a hook to the body. Brezlav takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Brezlav has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Aims. Those never looked like landing.
And Brezlav tries to counter it with a takedown but Aims pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Aims throws a lazy uppercut #TD2#
so Brezlav counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Brezlav throws a big right hand that misses.
Brezlav stops Aims from standing up.

Brezlav working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Brezlav working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Aims's head.

Brezlav is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Aims rolls with it to try and escape but Brezlav cranks on the arm and Aims is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Thomas cracks Brezlav with a right hand to the side of the head.#TD#
Brezlav closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thomas to the mat! Thomas manages to get full guard.

It looks like Evan Thomas has been cut.
We've been hearing that Brezlav has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Brezlav loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Thomas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Thomas wants to control from the top but Brezlav keeps moving.
Thomas might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brezlav haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.#T1##SUB#
Brezlav is looking to cinch up a triangle. Thomas throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Brezlav's body to avoid the submission. Brezlav has instead reached around Thomas's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Brezlav arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

During a confident post fight interview, Igor Brezlav thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

Brezlav dives in and grabs Aaron's left leg, looking for a takedown. Aaron pushes down on Brezlav's head and hops out.
Brezlav misses with a takedown attempt - Aaron sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Aaron thuds his right hand into Brezlav's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Brezlav takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Brezlav fails to land the takedown.
Hank Aaron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Brezlav.
Aaron stuffs the takedown attempt from Brezlav. Brezlav gets slowly back to his feet. #TD2#
Brezlav drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.#ES#
Aaron scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Horrible takedown attempt by Brezlav or perhaps it was just good defense by Aaron, which made it look bad.
Aaron stuffs the takedown.

Aaron wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.#T1#
Brezlav shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Aaron as he avoids it easily.
Aaron punishes Brezlav's body with a nice straight punch.
Igor Brezlav seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brezlav looks winded!
Aaron leaves Brezlav with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Oooooh!!! Aaron has knocked Brezlav down with a huge combo! Aaron steps away and waves a wobbly Brezlav back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#CUT#
It looks like Igor Brezlav has been cut.

and Aaron counters with a huge right that knocks Brezlav out cold! Aaron is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Brezlav throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aerts's waist but Aerts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brezlav off to one side. #TD#
Aerts drives through with a takedown into Brezlav's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Aerts trying to control the position from guard on top but Brezlav is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB2#
Brezlav looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Aerts has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Aerts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brezlav swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brezlav can't keep his opponent in guard - Aerts advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Aerts wants to free his trapped foot but Brezlav is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Brezlav gets back to full guard.
Aerts wants to control from the top but Brezlav keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2#
Brezlav pushes a forearm under Aerts's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Aerts is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
