The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldonado cracks Villeneuve with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Alphonse Villeneuve has been cut.

Maldonado sends Villeneuve crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Maldonado is motioning to the referee to let Villeneuve up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Villeneuve is rocked!
Villeneuve switches off momentarily and Maldonado cracks him with a monster right hand! Villeneuve topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Maldonado dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Maldonado!

Ralphie Maldonado was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
