The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis misses the jab.

Yoshioka has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Yoshioka tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Davis defends well and Yoshioka ends up having to push Davis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Davis takes a swing at Yoshioka's ribcage but misses.
Davis misses with an uppercut.
Yoshioka ducks under a wild hook from Davis.
Yoshioka with the counter takedown but Davis avoids it easily.
Davis scores with a shot to the body.

Satoru Yoshioka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis throws the left hand but Yoshioka avoids the punch easily.
Yoshioka tries to clinch there but Davis circles away.
Davis rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Yoshioka counters with a shoot takedown. Davis fights it but they end up in guard.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Yoshioka passes into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis is refusing to be controlled, as Yoshioka sits in half guard.

Yoshioka tries to pass to full mount but Davis defends it.
Yoshioka works his way into side control.
Davis gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Yoshioka fails to advance to Davis's back.
