Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Reno Rocca (ranked 537 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duane Damie (ranked 24224 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocca comes to the cage accompanied by Avenues and Alleyways/Rancid. Reno Rocca has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rocca gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Rocca lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Damie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rocca walks away with a smile on his face. Damie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Damie misses with a takedown
and Rocca counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Damie throws a nice looking combination but Rocca bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rocca stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rocca throws a lazy right hand but Damie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Rocca instigates a clinch.
Damie is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rocca gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
I was talking to Rocca's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Reno Rocca has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Duane Damie.
Damie fails to pull guard.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Rocca obliges.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rocca throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Damie looks winded!
Rocca pushes Damie back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Rocca lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Rocca tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Damie's elbow.
Damie is trying to push Rocca away but Rocca has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Rocca digs a right hand into Damie's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Damie's gas tank.
Rocca lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Damie or not.

Damie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rocca avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Rocca digs a right hand underneath Damie's ribcage. Damie let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Damie seems to have recovered his senses.
Rocca lands a big right hand that drops Damie! The killer instinct kicks in and Rocca finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Rocca!
