The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Shiina. No joy for Day on that attempt.
Shiina has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Day tries to move into range but Shiina moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Day accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oh but Shiina is tightening it up a little... Day has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Day reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Day taps out! Nice BJJ there by Shiina!
