Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Travis Petes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pharoh Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Travis Petes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pharoh Khan!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan has a takedown stuffed.
Petes really is a fat lump.
Petes connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Khan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Petes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
No luck for Khan with that takedown attempt.
Khan is looking to land body kicks.
Petes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Khan fails with the takedown.
Travis Petes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pharoh Khan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A chopping leg kick lands by Petes.
Khan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khan tries to clinch up.
Petes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Khan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Petes's waist but Petes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Khan off to one side.
Khan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Petes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Khan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Petes is fending him off so far but Khan persists. Nope, Petes circles away and we're back to standing.
Khan looks gassed!
Khan moves in looking to clinch but Petes pushes him off.
Khan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Khan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Petes as he jumps to the side.
Khan throws a nice looking combination but Petes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Petes instigates a clinch.
Khan misses with a hook to the ribs.
Khan drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Khan misses with a punch to the body.

Petes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Petes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Khan sprawls well initially but Petes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Petes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Khan trying to hold on to Petes's head to control him but Petes postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Petes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Petes keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Khan is trying to stand back up but Petes is controlling him
Petes slows the pace down in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Petes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Khan is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Petes pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis Petes dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Khan tries to clinch up

and Petes counters with a shoot takedown. Khan fights it but they end up in guard.
Petes postures up.
Petes won't allow Khan to sweep him here.
Petes's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Khan trying to control the position.
Khan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Petes!

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Khan looking to control but Petes is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Khan looking to finish Petes with some ground and pound. This is bad for Petes!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Khan avoids the attempt from Petes to control.
Petes is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Travis Petes just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Khan looks to clinch

and Petes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Khan's guard.
Khan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Petes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Khan throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Khan is controlling Petes's posture.
Petes won't allow Khan to get back to his feet.
Khan is breathing heavily.
Petes content to stall in guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis Petes dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Petes wants to pass the guard but Khan is defending well.
Khan trying to control but Petes postures up.

Khan looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Petes is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Khan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Khan looking for submissions off his back.
Khan tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Petes has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Khan tries to hold on but Petes postures up.
Petes looking to control and managing it successfully.
Khan wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Khan won't enjoy being in this position. Petes looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Khan is tapping - it's over boys! Petes picks up the submission victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Travis Petes!
