Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tong Po!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takeru Ishii!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Po blocks the leg kick.
It looked like Po wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Takeru Ishii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Po keeps the fight on the outside.
Ishii moves out of range as Po strikes.
Ishii turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Po takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Ishii lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ishii tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Po paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Po throws out a powerful jab.
Po drops his hands momentarily and Ishii takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ishii is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ishii stuns Po with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ishii throws an overhand right that lands on Po's shoulder, as Po tries to avoid the shot.
Ishii feints and then cracks Po's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Po down.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ishii finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Po was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ishii. Po does a little dance to reset his feet.

Po goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Ishii lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ishii looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ishii lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Po has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Po and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tong Po.
I think Ishii has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
