Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Erwin (ranked 860 p4p, 118 weight class) and Carl Sweetchuck (ranked 1103 p4p, 151 weight class). Sweetchuck has chosen Police Academy as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Erwin has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Erwin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Erwin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sweetchuck's guard.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sweetchuck, as that shot connected.

Erwin shoots for a double leg takedown but Sweetchuck sprawls well. He's pushed Erwin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
