Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Blackblood (ranked 1623 p4p, 189 weight class) and Scott Barrera (ranked 1681 p4p, 192 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrera pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Blackblood fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Barrera.
Barrera misses with a double jab.
Blackblood was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Blackblood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barrera.
Barrera takes a swing at Blackblood's ribcage but misses.

Barrera let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Blackblood looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Blackblood lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Barrera unleashes a big counter combination but Blackblood bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

I was talking to Blackblood's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Scott Barrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barrera lands with an uppercut that bounces Blackblood off the cage and back into range.
Barrera plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Blackblood to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Blackblood just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
