Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Lane (ranked 1572 p4p, 176 weight class) and Danny Wood (ranked 2289 p4p, 238 weight class). Wood has chosen Notorious B.I.G - Hypnotyze as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Lane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Wood!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lane closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wood quickly recovers to half guard.

Lane seems to be working for a kimura but Wood defends the submission attempt.
Lane not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wood has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wood takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Lane working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Lane wants to control for a moment but Wood uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Lane is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wood has managed to free his arm - good work.

Lane throws an elbow that misses. Wood uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lane's guard. Nice move by Wood!


Lane has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wood can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wood would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Peter Lane overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lane wants to sweep here but Wood controlling him for the moment.
Lane seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Lane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wood defends well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wood wants to stand but Lane is controlling his posture from full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like Peter Lane has been cut.

Wood lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lane circles away quickly and effectively.

Lane on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Peter Lane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Wood counters with a straight that turns Lane's legs to rubber! Wood pushes forward with more strikes and Lane goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!

Danny Wood was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Peter Lane spoke after the fight, saying 'Definitely disappointed, but I know I'll be back even hungrier!'.
