Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamey Roy (ranked 24641 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Black (ranked 4799 p4p, 0 weight class). Jamey Roy has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamey Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Black!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black clinches up against the cage.
Roy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Black walks away with a smile on his face. Roy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Black is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Black instigates a clinch.

Black manages to break the clinch.
Roy throws a predictable looking body shot
and Black counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Black looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Roy trying to control here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roy is doing well to control the position and prevent Black from advancing to side control.
Roy really is a fat lump.
Black is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Black is looking for a kimura here.
Roy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Black.

Black trying to control the pace.
Black missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Black sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Roy defending well though.
Black perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Black is working for a kimura here but Roy manages to reverse the position and he's now in Black's guard.

Black looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Roy has picked Black up and slammed him! Black can't keep hold of the triangle and Roy manages to pass to side control!
Black takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Roy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Black gets back to half guard.
Black wants to improve his position but Roy is controlling well.
Black has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Roy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Roy prevents Black from improving his position.

Black makes his way to full guard, as Roy worked for a kimura.

Roy wants to stand but Black is controlling his posture from full guard.
Roy scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Roy chips away with some ground and pound.

Roy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Black is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Black has escaped and now he's on top!

Black is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Roy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Black is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Black decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Black dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Black tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Roy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Roy throws a head kick that misses.
Black is looking to clinch but Roy is avoiding it.

Black manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Roy on his heels. He'll look to pass Roy's guard now, I'm sure.
Black wants to control from the top but Roy keeps moving.
Roy wants to stand but Black is controlling the position.
Roy pulls Black in to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Black looking to pass the guard.
Black throws a big elbow that misses.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Black engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Black looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Roy wants to get back to his feet.

Roy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Black is working away from the top position though.
Black stops Roy from getting back to his feet.
Black sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Roy defending well though.
Black seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Roy wants to get back to his feet.
Black is controlling the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Black fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Roy to the ground. Black is now in Roy's guard.
Roy trying to control the position.
Roy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Roy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Black is one step ahead there.
Black postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Black is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Roy is trying to control the position but Black postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Black stands and steps away. Roy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Roy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Roy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Black throws Roy to one side and escapes!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Roy gets caught flat footed, as Black shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Black sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Black advances position into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Black showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

and Roy counters with a left and a right that stings Black.

Roy gets caught napping as Black dives in and scores a takedown. Roy manages to retain guard.
Roy keeping moving, preventing Black from controlling successfully.
Black won't allow Roy to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Black in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Roy is looking for a triangle here but Black uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Black trying to control the action but Roy is working from the bottom.

Roy can't do much from the bottom here.
Black postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Roy is looking for a sweep.
Roy is pushing Black's head away, looking to escape. Black manages to hold on to the position though.
Roy is trying to control Black's posture but Black avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Roy is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Black has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Black throwing shots but missing, from side control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Black closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Roy quickly recovers to half guard.
Black controlling the action here.
Black works his way into full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roy wants to control but Black is having none of it.
Roy is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Black tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Black throws some wild stikes that Roy manages to avoid easily.
Roy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Black.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Black sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Let's hope that Black has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Roy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Black looking to take Roy's back but Roy rolls and after a scramble, Roy ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Roy to escape a tricky position.
Black controls Roy momentarily but Roy frees himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Black comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Black winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
