Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Landon Cannon (ranked 24595 p4p, 553 weight class) and Hal Green (ranked 5612 p4p, 476 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Landon Cannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hal Green!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green misses with a double jab

and Cannon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Green won't be happy with that.

Green bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Cannon half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Green looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Green throws a series of punches but Cannon avoids them all with ease.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Green lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cannon circles away quickly and effectively.

and Cannon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Cannon is looking for a kimura here.
Green wants to improve his position but Cannon is controlling well.

Green manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Cannon darts in looking for a takedown but Green gets double underhooks and turns Cannon into the cage.
Green misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Green has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Cannon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cannon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Cannon counters with a shoot takedown. Green fights it but they end up in guard.

Cannon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Green wants to sweep but no luck.
Green keeps trying to improve his position.
Cannon trying to control but Green is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cannon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Green dives on top into guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cannon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Green cracks Cannon with a solid left hand.

Green avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A close round but Hal Green will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hal Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Green throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cannon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Cannon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Green defends it well.
Green really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cannon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Green wants to get back to full guard.

Green is defending against the submission attempts here by Cannon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green is looking for a sweep. Cannon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Cannon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cannon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Green is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cannon goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Green has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cannon but great work by Green.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cannon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Green is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Green has escaped and now he's on top!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Green accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Green working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cannon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Green doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cannon is tightening it up a little... Green has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Green reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Green taps out! Nice BJJ there by Cannon!
