Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eerikki Salmi (ranked 1126 p4p, 163 weight class) and David Williams (ranked 1989 p4p, 263 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Eerikki Salmi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Eerikki Salmi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams takes a jab right on the kisser.
Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Salmi, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Salmi against the cage but Salmi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice straight punches there by Salmi. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Salmi.
Williams fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Salmi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Williams sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Williams shoots in for a double leg but Salmi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Eerikki Salmi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Williams.
Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salmi pinned against the cage. Salmi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

And Williams tries to counter it with a takedown but Salmi pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Salmi looks for the body kick but Williams saw that one coming.
Williams goes for a double leg but Salmi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salmi continues to drive forward.
Salmi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams shoots in looking for a takedown but Salmi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Williams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Salmi throws a leg kick which misses Williams's front leg but catches the back leg as Williams tries to avoid it.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Salmi sprawls well. Salmi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.
