PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roland Charlemange (ranked 4844 p4p, 470 weight class) and Henry Wang (ranked 3916 p4p, 428 weight class). Henry Wang told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wang throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Wang gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Charlemange to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wang can do anything to dispel that myth.
Charlemange is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Charlemange throws a big right hand that misses.

Wang pushes Charlemange off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Charlemange closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wang did well to prevent Charlemange getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wang is trying to stand up here but Charlemange is controlling him well.

Wang looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Charlemange looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wang with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
