PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Chuck Lee (ranked 23214 p4p, 593 weight class) and Yevgen Maartins (ranked 6742 p4p, 541 weight class). Lee's entrance music is Titties and Coke "subliminal messages". A fine choice. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chuck Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yevgen Maartins!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maartins keeps the fight on the outside.
Maartins looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Yevgen Maartins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maartins slips under a jab.
Lee lands a nice shot to the body.
Lee takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Maartins swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee.
A countering left hand to the body from Maartins misses.

Maartins pushes Lee up against the ropes in a clinch.
Maartins has Lee pressed against the ropes, preventing Lee from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Lee is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Maartins throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Maartins comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Lee tries to circle away but Maartins has him pinned against the ropes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lee breaks the clinch.
Maartins thows a body kick. Lee tries to catch it but that hurt him.

and Maartins counters with a head kick.
Maartins takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lee tries to clinch but Maartins moves out of range.
Maartins counters with a body kick.
Lee is looking to clinch but Maartins is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maartins lands a nice looking body shot.
Lee loads up on a big right hand but Maartins slips the punch.
Maartins connects with the punch.
Lee takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Maartins throws out a head kick that Lee doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Lee crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Lee's eyes and has decided to let it go on!

Lee is rocked!

Maartins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lee takes a jab right on the kisser.
Oh Lee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Look low, kick high! Maartins uses the oldest trick in the book to send Lee tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Maartins is absolutely delighted - when Lee wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
