Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seymour Townsend (ranked 24403 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bishop Walter (ranked 3073 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Seymour Townsend!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bishop Walter!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Townsend tries to sprawl but Walter drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Walter wants to take a breather but Townsend is having none of it.
Walter wants to free his trapped foot but Townsend is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walter missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Townsend wants to control but Walter is keeping busy.
Townsend gets full guard.
Walter won't allow Townsend to sweep him here.
Townsend keeping full guard, as Walter tries to pass.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walter stands up and waves to Townsend to follow him.
Walter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Walter looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Walter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Walter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Walter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Townsend sneaks out the side door and pushes Walter away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Walter dives in and scores a takedown into Townsend's guard.
Walter stays in close to Townsend's body and controls the position.
Walter won't allow Townsend to sweep him here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Walter trying to control but Townsend is working from the bottom.
Townsend throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Townsend is looking to stand up but Walter isn't so interested in that idea.

Townsend is trying to control the position but Walter postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Townsend bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walter's guard.

Walter is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Walter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Townsend manages to get himself to full guard.

Walter wants to stand but Townsend is controlling his posture from full guard.

Walter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Townsend works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Townsend has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Walter has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Walter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Townsend has him pressed against the cage.

Walter has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Townsend is trying to keep an underhook but Walter manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Walter content to control rather than advance.
Townsend is trying to stand up here but Walter is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bishop Walter will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Walter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Townsend paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Walter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Walter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Townsend tries to buck Walter off but Walter is having none of it.
Walter happy to just control the position for now.
Townsend struggling a bit here.
Townsend is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Walter has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Walter tries to move to mount but Townsend blocks the move with his legs.

Townsend is not content to let Walter control the position.

Townsend tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Walter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bishop Walter has got the better of the ground game so far.
Walter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Walter is continuing to stall.
Townsend gets back to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Townsend enables Walter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Townsend manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Walter drops back looking for a leg! Townsend is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Townsend manages to kick Walter off! Walter jumps back into Townsend's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Walter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Townsend really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Walter throws a big right hand that misses.

Walter wants to stand but Townsend has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Walter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bishop Walter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Walter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Townsend. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Townsend is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walter is controlling him.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Walter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
It looks like Walter is going to stand back up.

Walter is working for a submission of some sort.
Walter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Townsend knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Well, if Walter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Walter turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Walter manages to end up in side control.
Townsend prevents Walter from improving position.

Walter lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Townsend down.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bishop Walter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
