Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickels slips under a jab from Holguin.
Nickels blocks a jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Holguin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A big right from Nickels misses.
Holguin takes a swing at Nickels's ribcage but misses.
Holguin just misses with a punch to the body.
Holguin misses with a hook.
Nickels connects with a jab.
Some wild striking there from Nickels.
Holguin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nickels swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nickels looks to score with a jab to the body but Holguin is just out of range.
Nickels tries to score with a low kick but Holguin moves his leg out of the way.

Holguin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Nickels is working to avoid the ground and pound but Holguin connects with a decent elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Holguin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Nickels tries to improve position but can't.
Holguin is working Nickels over with some ground and pound from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Holguin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Nickels is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Nickels tries to buck Holguin off but Holguin is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holguin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Nickels keeps Holguin under control for a moment.

Nickels is looking to regain half guard here but Holguin keeps moving and retains side control.

Holguin looks up at the clock and then as Nickels takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Holguin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
An elbow from Holguin crashes against the mat.
Holguin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Holguin scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Nickels is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Holguin can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
