Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oskar Schmidt (ranked 1648 p4p, 76 weight class) and Mohhamad Iman (ranked 2158 p4p, 230 weight class). Schmidt comes to the cage accompanied by Sweet Dreams. Mohhamad Iman will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Iman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Schmidt defends it well.

Iman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Iman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Schmidt defends it well.

Schmidt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Iman is working away from the top position though.
Schmidt is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Iman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Iman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Schmidt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Iman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Schmidt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Iman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schmidt has managed to get both his arms back between Iman's legs - danger averted.
