Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Matvey Pavlov (ranked 1215 p4p, 82 weight class) and Freddie Zamora (ranked 1819 p4p, 119 weight class). Pavlov comes to the ring accompanied by Prokofiev - Dance of the Knights. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 10 losses; Matvey Pavlov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Freddie Zamora!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

The referee asks Pavlov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pavlov prefers to stall for the moment though.

Zamora felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Zamora might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pavlov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Zamora staying busy and making it hard for Pavlov to control.
Pavlov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Zamora is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Pavlov has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Zamora has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Pavlov is working for a rear naked choke. Zamora is not defending it well and Pavlov has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Zamora refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Zamora's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Matvey Pavlov!
