Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elroy Clarks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luiz Alves!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch but Clarks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Clarks throws a shot from downtown. Alves moves away and avoids it.

Clarks has closed the distance and engaged Alves in a clinch.
Clarks is leaning against Alves and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Clarks.
A nice right hand lands inside from Clarks.
Stalling in the clinch from Clarks.

Alves successfully pulls guard.

Clarks thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Alves keeping full guard, as Clarks tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clarks is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Alves has escaped the position, nice work there.

Clarks wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alves, who protects the arm well.
Alves is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Clarks wants to stand but Alves is controlling his arm.
Alves is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Clarks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Clarks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
A control attempt from Alves but he's now mounted!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Clarks wants to take his opponent's back but Alves doesn't allow it.

Clarks has control of Alves's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Alves regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Alves wants to hold on but Clarks pushes him away.

Clarks working for a submission but Alves is keeping him at bay.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Clarks is looking to work his way around to Alves's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Clarks jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Alves manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Clarks throws a right hand that Alves ducks under and follows up with a left that Alves also avoids with ease.
Alves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clarks as he avoids it easily.

and Clarks counters with a straight right hand.
Clarks misses with an uppercut. Alves saw that one coming.

Clarks trying to stall but Alves improves his position.

Clarks fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Alves tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Clarks smiles and moves away.
Elroy Clarks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Alves.
Alves displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Clarks throws out the jab.

Alves is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Clarks is defending well.
Clarks lands a left hand that snaps the head of Alves backwards.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Alves blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Alves tries to break the clinch but Clarks is controlling the position.
Alves looking for a takedown.
Alves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Clarks just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Clarks lands with a short shot to the head.
Alves tries to score a body lock takedown but Clarks shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
The referee calls for Clarks to work.
Clarks swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Clarks is looking to control Alves's arms but Alves gets an underhook and turns him. Now Clarks has his back to the ropes.
Alves is trying to pull guard but Clarks turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Clarks fails to land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Alves looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Clarks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alves shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clarks but Clarks pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Alves tries to clinch but Clarks is having none of it.
Clarks swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Clarks leaves Alves with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Alves shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Clarks defends it nicely.

Elroy Clarks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Clarks lunges at Alves with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Alves's hand.
Clarks throws out a loose jab but Alves uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alves walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Alves fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

As Clarks backs off Alves throws a huge counter combo but Clarks manages to avoid it all.

Clarks throws a series of punches but Alves moves out of range.
Alves darts in looking for a takedown but Clarks gets double underhooks and turns Alves into the ropes.
A quick step to the side and Clarks tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Luiz Alves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Clarks lands a glancing blow to the side of Alves's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Clarks counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Alves falls off balance throwing a combination
and Clarks counters with a stiff right hand.
Alves misses with a wild combination.
Alves takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Clarks throws a good cross that connects.
Clarks lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Alves takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

And that's the end of the fight!
Elroy Clarks showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Clarks has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
