PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cole Orion (ranked 599 p4p, 98 weight class) and Demon Monkey (ranked 813 p4p, 130 weight class). Monkey is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bransjehora. Demon Monkey told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cole Orion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demon Monkey!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monkey moves out of range of the strikes.
Orion scores with the left hand. Monkey knows he should have avoided that one.

It looks like Demon Monkey has been cut.
Orion throws a lazy uppercut
and Monkey counters with a body kick.
Monkey lands with a thumping leg kick.
Orion swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A little jabbing left from Monkey on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
A right-left combo lands from Orion.
Orion throws an overhand right that lands on Monkey's shoulder, as Monkey tries to avoid the shot.
Orion throws a right hand that misses
and Monkey counters with an inside leg kick.
Nice body kick there by Monkey.
Monkey keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Orion.
Monkey swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Orion takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Orion throws a jab when Monkey was well out of range.
Orion throws a hook but Monkey blocks it.
And Monkey responds with a good body kick, but Orion manages to step out the way in time.
Orion throws an off balance right hand
and Orion takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Orion misses with a right hand
and Monkey counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Orion is breathing heavily.
Monkey wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Monkey throws a powerful right kick. Orion tried to block low but the kick was high! Orion was taken right off of his feet! Monkey jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Demon Monkey!
