Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clive Burrows!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Waco Monson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burrows misses with a hook.
Monson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Clive Burrows has been cut.
Burrows does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Burrows throws a big shot that misses.
Burrows fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Burrows looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Monson!
Monson defending against the ground and pound.
Burrows postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Burrows has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Burrows throws an elbow but Monson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Monson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Burrows cracks Monson with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burrows creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Monson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Burrows throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Monson parries the strikes from Burrows easily there. Burrows is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Monson to escape.
Burrows working away.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Monson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Monson on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Burrows throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
An elbow from Burrows crashes against the mat.
Burrows working away.
Burrows trying to control the position but Monson is working away.
Burrows sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Monson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Burrows working the ground and pound.
Burrows working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.


Monson is rocked!
Burrows in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Monson looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Burrows turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
