PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shao Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Nader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shao Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ralph Nader!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Khan.

Nader feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Khan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nader to the mat! Nader manages to get full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Khan bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

and Nader counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Khan's guard now.
Nader wants to pass the guard but Khan is keeping the position.
Nader passes Khan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nader is looking to take a break and control but Khan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nader moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Khan.

Khan avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nader.

Nader stands up and beckons Khan to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nader bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Khan sneaks out the side door and pushes Nader away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ralph Nader comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nader has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
