PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Siver (ranked 3314 p4p, 316 weight class) and Jeronimo Seagal (ranked 7133 p4p, 455 weight class). Jeronimo Seagal told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Siver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeronimo Seagal!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seagal displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Seagal enables Siver to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Seagal manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Seagal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Siver working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Siver connects with a couple of short punches.
Siver throws a big right hand that misses.
Siver throws a big elbow that misses.
Siver postures up and lands a big shot to Seagal's brow.

Siver gets to his feet. Seagal looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Seagal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Siver bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Seagal is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Siver sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Seagal is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Siver tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Seagal is still in real trouble! Can Siver finish him?
Siver scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Seagal is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Siver can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
