PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Durden (ranked 6290 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Mohammed (ranked 5105 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson Mohammed told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mohammed displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Durden.
Durden looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Durden fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Mohammed fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Durden sprawls well initially but Mohammed persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like Mohammed is going to stand back up.
Mohammed perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Mohammed has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Mohammed might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Durden knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mohammed on the ground.

Mohammed tries to stand and escape but Durden is controlling the position.
Mohammed seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mohammed lands strikes from half guard.
Mohammed is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mohammed seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Durden is looking to improve his position.
Mohammed is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Mohammed works his way into side control.
Durden is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Mohammed is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Mohammed takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mohammed is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Durden can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
