The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pennington avoids the body shot from Jakua.
Pennington really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jakua throws a shot to the body.

Jakua gets tackled into the cage by Pennington. Pennington maintains the clinch.
Jakua wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jakua wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pennington has him pressed against the cage.

Pennington is trying to stall.
A head punch on the inside from Pennington fails to land.

Pennington fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pennington throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kris Jakua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jakua throws a looping overhand right but Pennington ducks down to avoid it.
Jakua looks to land a combination but Pennington avoids it well.

Jakua gets caught napping as Pennington dives in and scores a takedown. Jakua manages to retain guard.
Jakua pulls Pennington in close to his closed guard and prevents Pennington from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jakua wants to stand up but Pennington is controlling him.

Jakua feints with a jab and clips Pennington right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Pennington is sent crashing into the canvas and Jakua leaps in for the kill! Pennington tries to get to his feet but Jakua is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Pennington is in need of a savior and steps in!
