Sobchak's entrance music is Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In). A fine choice. Bear has chosen Good Times as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Sobchak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 36 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jer Bear!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobchak blocks a head kick by Bear.
Sobchak ducks right into an uppercut from Bear.
Both fighters circling a little - Sobchak finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Bear throws a series of punches but Sobchak moves out of range.
Sobchak throws a quick counter kick to the body but Bear avoids it.
A telegraphed right hand from Sobchak misses the target.
A punch combination from Bear misses.
Bear throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sobchak appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Bear misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sobchak.
Sobchak motions for Bear to come forward. Sobchak throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bear checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sobchak lands with a nice body kick.
Bear looks winded!
Bear cracks Sobchak with a good jab.

Sobchak moves into range and clinches up with Bear.
Sobchak lands a hook that snaps the head of Bear backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sobchak has a couple of punches blocked by Bear.
Bear takes a shot to the head.
Sobchak can't find room to land a body shot as Bear controls the action.
Sobchak doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Bear has had enough of the clinch but Sobchak keeps him there for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sobchak.
Sobchak lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bear backwards.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
With the fighters up against the cage, Bear throws an elbow but misses.

Bear manages to break the clinch.
Nice defenses there by Sobchak.
Bear tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sobchak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bear somewhat.
Sobchak misses with a looping left.
Bear missing with a left hand there. Sobchak was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
We've been informed that Bear has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Bear pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sobchak is out of range and Bear settles back down.
Sobchak definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bear throws a head kick but Sobchak moves out of range.

Sobchak closes the distance and pushes Bear back into the cage.
A short right from Sobchak on the inside.
Bear looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Still in the clinch, Sobchak scores with a nice short uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sobchak gets through Bear's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Sobchak keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bear's efforts to push away.
Bear has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bear working hard to break the clinch.
Bear wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Bear breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sobchak bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bear uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sobchak has time to react.

Sobchak has taken the fight to the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Bear breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bear takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Sobchak drives through and clinches with Bear against the cage.
Bear tries to break free but Sobchak pushes him back against the cage.
Sobchak misses with some punches.
A shot in the inside from Sobchak.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bear wants to get back to striking at distance but Sobchak won't allow it.
Sobchak lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Sobchak fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Sobchak has Bear pressed against the cage, preventing Bear from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Sobchak lands a body shot.
Sobchak is leaning against Bear and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Sobchak misses with a body punch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Sobchak.


It looks like Jer Bear has been cut.
Sobchak lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Sobchak lands an uppercut.


Bear is rocked!
Bear's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Bear is still on wobbly legs! Can Sobchak finish him?
Sobchak lands a nice shot to the body.
A short body shot lands from Sobchak as the two fighters clinch.
Sobchak scores with a shoulder strike.
Sobchak throws a big uppercut that drops Bear! More strikes from Sobchak and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Bear lies dazed against the cage as Sobchak celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walter Sobchak!
A determined Walter Sobchak didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
