PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Jonas Maker (ranked 4619 p4p, 393 weight class) and Aegon Targaryen (ranked 2359 p4p, 265 weight class). Targaryen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Game of Thrones Theme Song. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maker throws a big shot that misses.
Maker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Targaryen.
Targaryen appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Maker connects with a nice looking jab.
Maker looks to throw the jab but Targaryen is out of range.
Maker lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Aegon Targaryen has been cut.
Targaryen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Maker.
Targaryen wants to counter with a clinch but Maker pushes him away.
Maker checks a low kick from Targaryen.
Targaryen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Targaryen slips a straight right by Maker.
Maker loads up on a big right hand but Targaryen slips the punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maker blocks a head kick by Targaryen.
Targaryen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Targaryen slips a jab from Maker.
Jonas Maker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Targaryen takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Targaryen lands a leg kick that knocks Maker off balance momentarily.
Targaryen walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Some wild striking there from Maker.
Maker throws a jab when Targaryen was well out of range.
Maker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Targaryen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Targaryen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Maker throws out the jab.
Maker jabs Targaryen to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Maker definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Maker lands a glancing blow to the side of Targaryen's head.
A jab from Maker does it's job there.
Maker misses with an uppercut.
Maker lands a nice looking body shot.
Maker lands a right hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A clash of legs there as Maker blocks the low kick.
Maker scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Targaryen doesn't seem bothered though.
Maker cracks Targaryen with a good jab.

That has opened up Aegon Targaryen's cut even more.
Targaryen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Maker bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Maker lands a nice shot that snaps Targaryen's head back.
Targaryen tries a head kick but it misses.
Good shot there by Maker.
Targaryen takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Targaryen is rocked!

The cut above Aegon Targaryen's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Maker scores with a body shot.
Targaryen looks winded!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Maker cracks Targaryen with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Targaryen is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Targaryen is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Targaryen is still on wobbly legs! Can Maker finish him?
Maker connects with a quick right hand that sends Targaryen tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
