PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Santana Blaze (ranked 1056 p4p, 64 weight class) and Wayne Williams (ranked 713 p4p, 39 weight class). Wayne Williams told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 2, fighting out of New York, Santana Blaze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wayne Williams!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaze avoids the body shot from Williams.
Blaze takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Blaze bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Williams's head backwards.
Williams has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Williams throws a jab but it's blocked by Blaze.
Williams throws a right hand that misses
and Blaze counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Wayne Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams misses with a straight left.
Williams misses with a two punch combination.
Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Blaze was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Blaze connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Blaze throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Blaze works over Williams's head and body with a nice combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams throws a right and a left that Blaze avoids nicely.
Blaze swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Blaze throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Williams counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Williams bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Blaze is rocked!
Blaze really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Oh Blaze is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Blaze connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Williams momentarily.
Williams looks to land a left hand but Blaze moved out of range nicely.
Blaze appears to be looking for a big counter.
Blaze seems to have got his legs back now.
A big right from Williams misses.
Williams lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Williams looks to land a right hand but Blaze moved out of range.
Williams throws a series of punches but Blaze avoids them all with ease.
Blaze scores with a shot to the body.
Blaze lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Blaze.
A looping hook to the body misses from Williams. Blaze does a little dance to reset his feet.
Blaze walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Williams loads up on a big right hand but Blaze slips the punch.
A swing and a miss from Williams.

Blaze's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Blaze duly obliges.

Blaze throws a right hand that Williams ducks under and follows up with a left that Williams also avoids with ease.
Williams Throws a clean left jab. Williams Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Blaze's chin! Blaze crumbles to the ground and Williams follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Williams!
