The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Johnson misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Madsen misses the target.
Johnson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Johnson misses the body punch
and Madsen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Johnson walks into a left hand.
John Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson throws a hook but Madsen blocks it.
Johnson takes a swing at Madsen's ribcage but misses.
Johnson drops his hands momentarily and Madsen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Madsen shows good takedown defense.
Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Madsen was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Madsen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Madsen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Madsen stuns Johnson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Madsen moves out of range easily.

It looks like Madsen has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

and Madsen counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like John Johnson has been cut.
Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Madsen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Johnson is rocked!
Johnson switches off momentarily and Madsen cracks him with a monster right hand! Johnson topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Madsen dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Madsen!

Mark O Madsen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
