The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Goncalves.
Ricci defending well as Goncalves loads up on a big left hand.
Ricci takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Ricci's corner calls for a 1-2. Ricci obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Ricci throws a leg kick which misses Goncalves's front leg but catches the back leg as Goncalves tries to avoid it.
Goncalves misses with a body shot
and Ricci counters with a solid body kick.
Goncalves has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Goncalves gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ricci.
Goncalves looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ricci fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

A little jabbing left from Ricci on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Ricci lands a head kick. Goncalves smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Ricci displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Goncalves.
It seemed like Ricci was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Ricci darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Ricci thumps Goncalves with a low kick.
Good leg kick by Ricci there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Goncalves drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Albert Ricci seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ricci drops Goncalves with a beautiful combination! Goncalves stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ricci is looking for the KO!
Oh Goncalves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Ricci counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

After the fight, Albert Ricci was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
