Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Loel (ranked 2138 p4p, 254 weight class) and Oliver Queen (ranked 2222 p4p, 259 weight class). Loel comes to the ring accompanied by Third Eye Blind - Semi-Charmed Life. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yuri Loel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Oliver Queen!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Queen moves into range and connects with a jab.
Queen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Queen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Queen.
Loel misses with a series of wild punches.
Queen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Loel.
Loel keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Queen.
A quick step to the side and Loel tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Queen checks a low kick from Loel.
Good work by Loel as he checks the leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Queen motions for Loel to come forward. Queen throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Queen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Loel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Queen was well out of range. Poor timing from Loel.

Loel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Queen circles away quickly and effectively.

Queen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Queen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Loel throws a quick counter kick to the body but Queen avoids it.
Oliver Queen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Queen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Loel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Queen moves away.
Loel uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A close round but Oliver Queen will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Queen takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Loel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Queen lands a nice shot that snaps Loel's head back.
Queen works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Loel goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
The fighters circle momentarily. Queen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Loel might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Loel looks to score with a jab to the body but Queen is just out of range.
Loel throws an overhand right that lands on Queen's shoulder, as Queen tries to avoid the shot.
Queen lands a nice looking kick to the body. Loel takes a step back to recover.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A looping hook to the body misses from Queen. Loel does a little dance to reset his feet.
Loel throws a big counter combination but Queen scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Loel checks a leg kick.

Queen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Queen dips to his left and cracks Loel with an uppercut!
A clash of legs there as Loel blocks the low kick.
Loel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Loel gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Queen throws a leg kick but Loel sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Loel on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Queen. Queen obviously looking to wear him down.
Loel is looking to wear down Queen with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Loel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Queen. That did some damage!

Oliver Queen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Queen lands a nice hook to Loel's body. Loel takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Queen throws a chopping leg kick but Loel manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
It looked like Loel was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Queen.
Loel takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Queen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Loel throws a front kick that sends Queen stumbling back into the ropes.

A little feinted left hand from Loel on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yuri Loel.
Well Queen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
