PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diarmuid Curry (ranked 41 p4p, 2 weight class) and Sunray Spike (ranked 70 p4p, 2 weight class). Curry comes into the arena with Epic Celtic Music blaring out of the sound system. Spike comes into a darkened arena with his song building. For Heavy Metal we will die! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Spike - just one landing.
Spike bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Sunray Spike seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Curry throws a predictable looking body shot
and Spike counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Curry has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Fist of Fury Training Center in the buildup to the fight.
A chopping leg kick lands by Spike.
Spike dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Curry takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Curry is breathing heavily.
Spike looks to score with a jab to the body but Curry is just out of range.
Spike explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Spike lands a lovely overhand right.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Spike paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Curry. Spike does a little dance to reset his feet.
Curry moves out of range as Spike strikes.
Curry jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Curry misses with a body punch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Spike.
Spike lands a left hand.

Spike pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Curry moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Curry fails to land with a series of punches.
Spike misses with a hook.
Curry swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Spike connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Curry looks to land a right hand but Spike moved out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Spike moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A slapping leg kick lands for Spike.

Spike sends Curry crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Spike is motioning to the referee to let Curry up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Curry is rocked!
Spike measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Curry! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
