Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The WoodTik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerome Wood!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
WoodTik throws a right and a left that Wood avoids nicely.
The WoodTik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wood darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wood slows the pace down in half guard.
Ground and pound from Wood.
WoodTik wants to get back to full guard.
Wood seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but WoodTik does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
WoodTik is trying to stand.
WoodTik slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

WoodTik is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wood wants to control from the top but WoodTik keeps moving.

WoodTik is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
WoodTik keeping moving, preventing Wood from controlling successfully.

WoodTik is trying to control the position but Wood postures up.
Wood stays in close to WoodTik's body and controls the position.

WoodTik has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wood can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wood decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Wood finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Wood drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

WoodTik had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Wood is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. WoodTik Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Wood's back instead.
WoodTik is breathing heavily.
WoodTik doesn't have the hooks in and Wood manages to turn into his guard.

WoodTik keeping moving, preventing Wood from controlling successfully.
Wood missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Wood scoring with punches to the head and body.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
WoodTik thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Wood decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on WoodTik, up you get!

so Wood counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wood tries to free his leg and advance position but WoodTik is retaining full guard.
Wood scoring with punches to the head and body.
WoodTik will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wood working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of WoodTik's head.
Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but WoodTik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wood must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

WoodTik has his foot on Wood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wood works his way back into a safe position though.

Wood avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
WoodTik wants to control the position but Wood says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Wood trying to control the action but WoodTik is working from the bottom.
Wood blocks the strikes from WoodTik.
Wood is keen to just control but WoodTik is a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
WoodTik fails with the takedown

and Wood counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
WoodTik tries to bench press Wood off him but Wood keeps the position.

Wood wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by WoodTik, who protects the arm well.
Wood is putting a hurting on WoodTik here, landing some big shots from side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
WoodTik manages to get back to half guard.

Wood has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can WoodTik defend it? Wood steps over the head and cranks it - WoodTik is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Wood!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jerome Wood!
