Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leeroy Whitaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leeroy Whitaker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Floyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leeroy Whitaker!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Floyd throws the kick towards the body but Whitaker avoids it.
Floyd bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Floyd shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Floyd postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Whitaker looks a forlorn figure.

Floyd is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Whitaker is surviving well by controlling Floyd's body position as best he can.
Whitaker's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Whitaker is wriggling around trying to escape.

Whitaker controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Whitaker is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Whitaker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Floyd moves away.

Whitaker lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Floyd shoots for a double leg takedown but Whitaker sprawls well. He's pushed Floyd's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Whitaker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Floyd has him pressed against the cage.
Floyd has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Whitaker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Floyd jumps guard but Whitaker stands there with Floyd around his waist. Floyd gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Whitaker stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Whitaker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Whitaker misses with the combination.
Whitaker lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Whitaker fails to land with a series of punches.
Floyd takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Floyd moves away from the strike by Whitaker.
Floyd moves out of range of the strikes.
Floyd goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
No joy there for Whitaker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Floyd takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Floyd lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Floyd takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Floyd shoots in looking for a takedown. Whitaker tries to sprawl out of it but Floyd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Whitaker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Whitaker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Whitaker lands a nice shot to the body.
Floyd shoots in for a takedown but Whitaker shows good takedown defense.
Whitaker throws a hook to the side of Floyd's head but Floyd sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Floyd uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Whitaker.

Whitaker uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Floyd has time to react.

Whitaker might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
