Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fabian Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Redmand!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redmand scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Redmand is trying to get an arm triangle but Armstrong is defending well.
Redmand tries to score with some ground and pound. Armstrong controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Armstrong gets back to half guard.
Armstrong is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Redmand's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Redmand's back!
Redmand is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Armstrong.
Redmand wants to control his opponent's hands but Armstrong gets his hands free.

Armstrong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Redmand as he avoids it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Armstrong has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Redmand is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Redmand is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Armstrong can't fight it off and eventually Redmand manages to take the fight to the floor. Armstrong looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fabian Armstrong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Armstrong lands a good elbow from the bottom.
Redmand in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Redmand is fighting to break Armstrong's control of his arms but Armstrong is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Armstrong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Armstrong takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Redmand is trying to stand.

Armstrong looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Armstrong is thwarting Redmand's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Fabian Armstrong will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Redmand throws a head kick that misses.

Redmand looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Armstrong!

Armstrong throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Redmand tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Redmand raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Redmand closes the distance and pushes Armstrong back into the cage.
Armstrong tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Redmand just stands there and leans against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Armstrong seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Armstrong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Redmand looking to hit a scissor sweep but Armstrong is one step ahead there.
Redmand is still trying to improve position.
Armstrong is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Redmand doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Armstrong stands up over Redmand, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Redmand wants to sweep here but Armstrong controlling him for the moment.
Armstrong is stalling in the full guard.

Armstrong is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Armstrong takes a jab right on the kisser.

Redmand fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Armstrong sprawls well initially but Redmand persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Redmand takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Redmand not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Armstrong is pressing down on Redmand's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Armstrong is on top in guard.

Redmand looking for a sweep. Not yet Redmand, not yet.
Armstrong controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Redmand is adopting a defensive guard.

Armstrong's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Armstrong seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Redmand for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fabian Armstrong.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Armstrong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
