Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rizzo Ryte (ranked 23292 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dek Bucknut (ranked 5180 p4p, 521 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rizzo Ryte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dek Bucknut!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryte tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bucknut keeps the fight on the outside.

Bucknut closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bucknut is controlling the pace.
Bucknut looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Bucknut trying to mount his opponent but Ryte defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bucknut looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Bucknut looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ryte with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Bucknut is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ryte is just riding it out for now. Bucknut eventually gives up the hold.
Ryte wants to control but Bucknut is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Bucknut is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ryte slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ryte controls Bucknut momentarily but Bucknut frees himself.
Bucknut stands up over Ryte, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Bucknut won't allow Ryte to sweep him here.

Bucknut thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bucknut wants to stand but Ryte is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bucknut is looking to advance position but Ryte has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Ryte throwing strikes here but Bucknut is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Ryte looking to control but Bucknut is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ryte punching from mount but Bucknut doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Ryte avoids the attempt from Bucknut to control.
Bucknut is in all sorts of trouble here.
Bucknut slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Ryte wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bucknut keeps working.
Ryte uses his free foot to push down on Bucknut's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bucknut.

Bucknut tries to hold on but Ryte pushes him away.
Bucknut is trying desperately to improve position.
Ryte tries to control but Bucknut wriggling away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round but I would say that Rizzo Ryte will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ryte shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bucknut as he jumps to the side.

Ryte is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bucknut defends well.
Ryte not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bucknut tries to free his leg and advance position but Ryte is retaining full guard.
Bucknut controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Bucknut wants to get up but he can't break Ryte's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bucknut seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bucknut postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bucknut engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ryte enables Bucknut to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ryte manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bucknut controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ryte is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ryte thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Ryte looking for a sweep. Not yet Ryte, not yet.
Bucknut is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bucknut wanted to stand there but Ryte had control of the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Bucknut lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Bucknut seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Bucknut is looking for a kimura here.
Bucknut has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dek Bucknut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Ryte fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bucknut avoids it really well and circles away.
Ryte shoots for a double leg takedown but Bucknut sprawls well. He's pushed Ryte's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ryte tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Bucknut manages to circle out of the way.

Bucknut has gone for a leg lock! Ryte slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bucknut's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bucknut keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Ryte is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bucknut doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ryte.
Bucknut tries to kick Ryte off but Ryte keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bucknut wants to get back to full guard.
Bucknut keeps trying to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bucknut can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bucknut wants to get back to full guard but Ryte has passed into side control.
Bucknut is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Bucknut tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ryte working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Bucknut is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ryte misses with a head shot.
Bucknut is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ryte tries to control but Bucknut wriggling away.
Bucknut sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Bucknut is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ryte pulls his head out easily.
Bucknut is staying active underneath Ryte, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rizzo Ryte.
I think Ryte has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
