Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shelton Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gok Won Khun!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khun scores with a sloppy right hand. Gold should have avoided that one.
It looks like Shelton Gold has been cut.
We've been told by Gold's head coaches at Power Wrestling Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gold fails with a takedown attempt.
Khun slaps away a takedown attempt from Gold, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Khun listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Gold has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shelton Gold. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khun lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Khun has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Gold is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Gold doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Khun to counter with a crisp jab.
Gold is breathing heavily.

Khun keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Khun lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Khun lands a big right hand that sends Gold crashing to the mat! Khun stays standing though and waves Gold back to his feet!
Gold is rocked!
Shelton Gold's cut is getting worse.
Shelton Gold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gold misses with a takedown attempt - Khun sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Oh Gold is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Khun circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Gold to the canvas! Gold doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Khun keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
