The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nouveau doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ahr counters with a straight right hand.
Ahr scores with a nice head shot.

Nouveau closes the distance and clinches.
Ahr throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Ahr presses Nouveau against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Ahr lands a takedown into guard.

Nouveau manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nouveau is defended easily by Ahr.
Nouveau throws a front kick that sends Ahr stumbling back into the cage.
Theodore Nouveau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nouveau wants to stand up but Ahr is controlling him.
Ahr won't allow Nouveau to sweep him here.

Ahr is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Nouveau is rocked!

Nouveau is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ahr is aware though and is defending well.

Ahr scores with a big shot! Nouveau's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Nouveau! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
