Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Preston Wiggins (ranked 7192 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Kant (ranked 5102 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Preston Wiggins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Kant!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Eliza Hachem and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wiggins looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Kant wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Wiggins manages to pass to side control.


Wiggins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kant defends it well.
Kant wants to improve his position but Wiggins is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wiggins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kant keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Kant has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wiggins is working away from the top position though.
Wiggins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kant wants to sweep but Wiggins has passed to side control!
Wiggins tries to score with some ground and pound. Kant controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Wiggins looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kant is looking to regain half guard here but Wiggins keeps moving and retains side control.

Kant is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Kant is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Wiggins is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wiggins lands a nice shot to the head.
Kant really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wiggins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kant is bucking up trying to escape but Wiggins cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Wiggins lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Preston Wiggins dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Wiggins rushes Kant and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wiggins tries to circle away but Kant has him pinned against the cage.
Kant prevents Wiggins from breaking the clinch.
Wiggins tries to stall but Kant uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Wiggins misses with a punch on the inside.
Wiggins will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kant up against the cage.
Kant pushes Wiggins back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Kant lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A shot in the inside from Kant.
Wiggins throws a head punch that misses.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Kant.
Wiggins takes a shot to the head.
Wiggins is looking to control Kant's arms but Kant gets an underhook and turns him. Now Wiggins has his back to the cage.
Wiggins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kant can do to turn this around?
Kant working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Kant lands a hook that snaps the head of Wiggins backwards.
Kant lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Kant lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Wiggins backwards.

Kant escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kant connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


It looks like Preston Wiggins has been cut.
Kant leaves Wiggins with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wiggins looks to land a left hand but Kant moved out of range nicely.
Nice uppercut there from Kant.
Wiggins walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


Wiggins is rocked!
Wiggins looks up at the clock. Bad move! Kant lands a right hand from hell, dropping Wiggins. Kant pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Kant!
