Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mika Allu (ranked 1439 p4p, 188 weight class) and Toturi Akodo (ranked 3868 p4p, 354 weight class). Akodo has chosen Skip Marley - Lions as his entrance music. Mika Allu has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allu will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Akodo misses with an uppercut. Allu saw that one coming.
Allu swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Allu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Death Valley Training Facility in the buildup to the fight.
Akodo throws an overhand right that lands on Allu's shoulder, as Allu tries to avoid the shot.
Akodo slips under a jab from Allu.

Akodo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Akodo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Allu avoids the body shot from Akodo.
The fighters circling - Allu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Allu stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Allu turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A punch lands to the side of Allu 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Allu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Akodo is trying to defend but Allu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Akodo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Allu tries to roll over but Akodo keeps him under control.

Allu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Akodo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Allu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Akodo's guard.

Allu postures up in Akodo's guard and throws a big left but Akodo blocks it.
Akodo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Allu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Allu is fighting to break Akodo's control of his arms but Akodo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Allu is looking to work some ground and pound but Akodo has wrist control.

Allu tries to work over Akodo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Allu tightens his grip and picks Akodo up, before dumping him to the ground. Akodo manages to land in guard.

Akodo has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Allu is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Allu closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Akodo's guard.
