Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milton Friedman (ranked 1335 p4p, 168 weight class) and Gareth Colton (ranked 1931 p4p, 232 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Milton Friedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gareth Colton!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colton tries to bum rush Friedman with a series of wild strikes but Friedman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Friedman feinted with a counter takedown.
Colton scores with a crisp jab that stopped Friedman in his tracks.
Friedman throws a series of punches but Colton moves out of range.
Colton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Friedman.
Colton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Colton lands with an overhand left.
Colton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Friedman.
Colton thuds a left hand into Friedman's body.
Friedman has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Milton Friedman has been cut.
Colton lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Friedman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Colton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Colton appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Friedman appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Friedman ducks under a wild hook from Colton.
Friedman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Colton has managed to clinch.
Friedman tries to score a body lock takedown but Colton shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A nice right hand lands inside from Friedman.
Friedman stalling in the clinch.
Colton working hard to break the clinch.
Friedman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Friedman goes for a takedown attempt but Colton pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Colton misses the body punch
and Friedman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gareth Colton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Friedman throws a nice looking combination but Colton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Friedman lands with a hook. Colton tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Colton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Friedman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
We've been told by Friedman's head coaches at Relentless Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Colton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Friedman doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Colton counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Friedman is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milton Friedman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Colton takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Colton lands with a nice combination. Friedman backs away looking to recover.

and Colton counters with a nice kick to the body.
Friedman slips under a jab.
Friedman throws a nice looking combination but Colton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Colton throws a right and a left that Friedman avoids nicely.

Oooooh!!! Colton has knocked Friedman down with a huge combo! Colton steps away and waves a wobbly Friedman back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Friedman is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Friedman walks into a left hand.
Oh Friedman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Friedman looks up at the clock. Bad move! Colton lands a right hand from hell, dropping Friedman. Colton pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gareth Colton!
