Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dorsey Dawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maxim Dyukov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Dawson as Dyukov shoots in.
Dawson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Dyukov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dawson.
Dyukov wants to clinch up but Dawson keeps it at a distance.
Dawson swats away the attempt to clinch by Dyukov.
Dyukov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dawson's guard.
Dyukov passes Dawson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dawson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dawson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dawson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Dyukov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dyukov lands strikes from half guard.
Dyukov works his foot free and advances to mount.
Dyukov sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Dyukov fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dyukov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dawson is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Dyukov controlling from the full mount.
Dyukov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
It looks like Dyukov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dawson is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Dyukov locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Dawson is forced to tap!
