Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Flint Beaswood (ranked 3872 p4p, 450 weight class) and Portgas D Ace (ranked 3855 p4p, 449 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Flint Beaswood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Portgas D Ace!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D Ace fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Beaswood manages to avoid it.
Beaswood attempts a counter takedown but D Ace avoids it well and moves away.

Beaswood gets in close and instigates a clinch.
D Ace has a couple of punches blocked by Beaswood.
Beaswood changes levels and goes for a takedown here. D Ace fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Beaswood fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but D Ace avoids it really well and circles away.
Beaswood staying out of range there.
D Ace throws a lazy uppercut

and Beaswood counters by moving into the clinch.
Beaswood definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
D Ace working aggressively here.
D Ace lands a body shot in the clinch.
Beaswood is looking for a takedown up against the cage. D Ace gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

D Ace lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Beaswood backs up against the cage.


It looks like Flint Beaswood has been cut.
D Ace misses with a wild combination.
It looked like Beaswood was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from D Ace.
A big right from D Ace misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from D Ace. Beaswood does a little dance to reset his feet.
D Ace looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
D Ace throws a shot from downtown. Beaswood moves away and avoids it.
Beaswood takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Beaswood moves out of range of the strikes.
A telegraphed right hand from D Ace misses the target.
D Ace rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beaswood moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Beaswood wants to clinch.
Beaswood uses good head movement to avoid the hook from D Ace.
Portgas D Ace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
D Ace connects with a body shot that sends Beaswood's belly button to the back.

Beaswood closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
D Ace gets back to full guard.
D Ace has his hands on Beaswood's head, controlling the position.

Beaswood stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. D Ace swivels though and keeps the full guard.
D Ace is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nice defenses there by Beaswood.
D Ace scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
D Ace fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Beaswood on the side of the head.
D Ace works the jab nicely.
D Ace throws a right hand that Beaswood ducks under and follows up with a left that Beaswood also avoids with ease.
Portgas D Ace seems to be getting the better of the standup.
D Ace throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Beaswood scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
D Ace tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Beaswood wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Beaswood trying to control the position but D Ace is working away.

Beaswood tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Beaswood is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt D Ace will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

D Ace is trying to get back to half guard.
Beaswood working the ground and pound.
Beaswood lands some shots froms side control.
D Ace tries to control but Beaswood manages to take his back.
D Ace looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Beaswood biding his time, looking for the opening.
Beaswood wants to control but D Ace is keeping busy.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Beaswood. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
D Ace takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Beaswood is hanging on to D Ace's back as he tries to escape.
D Ace trying to control the hands but Beaswood breaks the grip.

Beaswood tries to keep control of the position but D Ace is staying busy.
D Ace turns into Beaswood and is now in his guard.

Beaswood trying to keep a closed guard but D Ace is proving a slippery customer.
Beaswood thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Beaswood escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. D Ace gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Beaswood is looking for a triangle but D Ace pushes his legs off easily.
Beaswood can't keep his opponent in guard - D Ace advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
D Ace is taking a breather. Beaswood says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Beaswood is looking for a sweep. D Ace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Beaswood looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Beaswood wants to control but D Ace is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
D Ace is pressing down on Beaswood's thigh, looking to free his foot. Beaswood is holding on for now.
D Ace looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Flint Beaswood will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


D Ace lands a right hook to the body.
Beaswood shoots in and drives through. D Ace sprawls well.
D Ace lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A shot to the liver by D Ace. Beautiful body shot.
Beaswood closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
D Ace throws a jab when Beaswood was well out of range.
A counter left hand to the body from Beaswood misses its target.
Beaswood has his takedown stuffed
and D Ace connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
D Ace has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Beaswood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by D Ace.
D Ace leaves Beaswood with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from D Ace! But no joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Flint Beaswood. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Beaswood ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Beaswood shoots in for a takedown but D Ace shows good takedown defense.
Beaswood closes the distance and clinches up with D Ace, looking for a takedown. Beaswood pushes D Ace against the cage but D Ace circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A slow jab from D Ace misses its intended target.
Beaswood is looking to counter the offense by D Ace and move into the clinch.
D Ace uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Beaswood has time to react.

Beaswood takes the fight into the clinch.
Beaswood has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by D Ace after a bit of a struggle.

Beaswood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

D Ace just misses with a punch to the body.
Beaswood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by D Ace.
D Ace punishes Beaswood's body with a nice straight punch.
D Ace is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
D Ace jabs at Beaswood's body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Beaswood drops his hands momentarily and D Ace takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

D Ace throws a shot from downtown. Beaswood moves away and avoids it.
Portgas D Ace is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Beaswood is defended easily by D Ace.
D Ace is looking for the big counter here.

D Ace scores with the left hand. Beaswood knows he should have avoided that one.
D Ace throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Beaswood.
D Ace looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
D Ace connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
D Ace throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Beaswood gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and D Ace counters with a stiff right hand.
D Ace digs a good hook to Beaswood's body.
No luck for Beaswood with that takedown attempt.
Beaswood takes one to the chin there.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts D Ace, as that shot connected.


Beaswood is rocked!
The fighters circling - D Ace throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Beaswood fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Portgas D Ace comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think D Ace has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
