Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franklin Mooney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Bader!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bader drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mooney can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bader controls the pace.
Mooney keeping full guard, as Bader tries to pass.
Mooney wants to stand but Bader is controlling the position.
Bader is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mooney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mooney looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bader is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Mooney is looking for a triangle but Bader pushes his legs off easily.
Bader lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Mooney can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bader controls the pace.
Bader stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mooney swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bader got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mooney has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bader has managed to get both his arms back between Mooney's legs - danger averted.
Bader forces his way into half guard.
Bader is nestled in close to Mooney, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mooney flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Bader works his foot free and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bader controlling his opponent.
The referee warns Mooney that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bader looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Bader lands a nice shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mooney really is a fat lump.
Mooney tries to lock up and control but Bader gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bader controlling his opponent.
Bader prevents Mooney from getting the reversal.
Bader takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bader's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bader tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bader avoids the attempt from Mooney to control.
Bader controlling the pace for now.
It looks like Bader might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Bader is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Mooney is forced to tap! Great finish!
