Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between BJ Penn (ranked 2170 p4p, 106 weight class) and Freddie Zamora (ranked 2391 p4p, 116 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Penn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Justin Bieber - Love Yourself. BJ Penn is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zamora is looking to slow Penn down with leg kicks.
Zamora fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Zamora lands with a good body shot.
Zamora doesn't manage to clinch there - Penn circles away.
Penn was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Zamora lands a nice looking body kick.
Zamora scores with a shot to the body.
Zamora shoots and misses
and Zamora takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Zamora connects with a single shot there.
Penn on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Zamora looks to throw a body kick
and Penn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Freddie Zamora has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Penn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zamora lands with a hook. Penn tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Zamora ducks under a wild hook from Penn.
Zamora misses with a lunging right hand
and Penn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Freddie Zamora seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zamora looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Zamora shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Penn sprawls well. Penn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zamora gets slowly back to his feet.
Zamora buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Zamora tries to score a power double leg takedown but Penn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zamora somewhat.
BJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddie Zamora.
Zamora misses with an attempted mid kick.
Zamora scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
BJ Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zamora tries to clinch but Penn is having none of it.
Penn avoids the head kick by Zamora.

Penn takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Zamora.

and Penn counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zamora has closed the distance and engaged Penn in a clinch.
Zamora has a couple of punches blocked by Penn.
Zamora misses with a hook from the clinch.
Zamora doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Zamora breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Penn stuffs the takedown.

Penn lands with a short punch from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Penn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zamora circles away quickly and effectively.
Crunch! Zamora slams his shin into Penn's torso.
The fighters circle momentarily. Zamora darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Zamora shoots in but Penn avoids the takedown attempt easily.
It looked like Penn wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Zamora lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Zamora shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Penn as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Penn takes a swing at Zamora's ribcage but misses.
Zamora tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Zamora explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Zamora throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Penn counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Zamora thinking.
A head kick by Zamora misses
and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
BJ Penn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

BJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddie Zamora.
Zamora tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Penn counters with a huge left! Zamora is in big trouble! He's backing up but Penn isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Zamora from any more damage. A dominating finish by Penn!
