The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vanilla drives through with a takedown into Jones's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Vanilla wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vanilla accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Vanilla seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Vanilla has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vanilla postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Vanilla working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

It looks like Vanilla might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vanilla uses his free foot to push down on Jones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones.

Vanilla jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face as Vanilla controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

French Vanilla dominated that round.

Vanilla decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Vanilla thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Vanilla drops an elbow to the side of Jones's head.
Vanilla tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jones.

Jones has hold of Vanilla's hands but Vanilla slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones seems a little lost for a moment, as Vanilla dominates the positioning.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vanilla has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Jones in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Vanilla is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Jones is forced to tap! Great finish!
