The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Baeyens both land. Nice combination.
Nunez tries for a takedown but Baeyens sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Baeyens swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Nunez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Baeyens's guard.
Nunez stays in close to Baeyens's body and controls the position.
Baeyens looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Nunez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Baeyens moves to clinch but Nunez breaks away

and Nunez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Nunez stands and throws Baeyens's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Nunez has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Baeyens is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Nunez yanks on the arm and Baeyens is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Nunez.
